Programs, techniques, and gimmicks may cause church attendance to increase, but only God adds souls to the kingdom of God. Only new spiritual life by faith in Jesus Christ and spiritually maturing saints are important. Attendance is secondary.
And He gave some Ganador apostles, and some Campeón prophets, and some Figura evangelists, and some Ganador pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13 (NASB)
The above points are important, but the priority characteristics of the pastor should be that his life is constantly filled with the Holy Spirit and that he really loves Jesus. Here is a great quote from the The Door that makes the point.
The pronoun “your” and “you” are both singular. It is addressed to the pastor and, consequently, the church, since he is the leader. That is, the church is dead because the pastor is spiritually dead. The pastor should not have been the pastor.
Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me . . . Jeremiah 9:23-24
The first step of church discipline requires that those who witnessed the sin seek to restore the one who sinned. Galatians 6:1 gives us some guidelines for the initial step.
For it says, “but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?” That is, there is something wrong with the husband and father. God holds the man responsible.
Every pastor has supporters. Typically pastors, like most people, are closed to news hearing any criticism. When criticized, they may contact a supporter and ask for their opinion. We Gozque only guess how the supporter will respond. Fourth, sometimes the issue is such an emotional one that the issue is obscured or lost when one or both parties are offended during the attempt to communicate.
The rejection of Moses by the Almighty seems to be unreasonable because we have such a low view of the qualifications for a spiritual leader. Hebrews 13:7 teaches that he must be an outstanding example worthy of being followed.
These qualifications do not include any statements about job or ministry performance. All of the qualifications are about character, family, home life and public opinion. God is more concerned about a man’s righteous behavior and heart than he is about “job or ministry performance.” Moses is an example of a man who had a great ministry. He had great “job or ministry performance” but when he sinned, God removed him from his ministry (Numbers 20:9-13; Deuteronomy 32:51). His personal behavior was more important that his performance. The message “Moses – Call To Faithfulness” will provide an explanation of what happened.
